The spindle flange creates a physical barrier to prevent water from escaping the shower recess through spindle penetrations. Other sized models of this flange can be used for mixer tap and lugged elbow penetrations.
Spindle Flange
The spindle flange is fitted around the spindle substrate penetration which seals itself to the breech by way of a rubber gasket. The waterproofing is then completed to the flange and not the breech. Spindles can then be removed and replaced (as well as the breech if required) without damaging the waterproofing membrane.
